Virtual Publishing meets Reality, talk by Kim Maya Sutton of Safkhet Publishing

Tuesday, 11th February 2014 at 6pm - 8pm

Location: LAB 109, Anglia Ruskin University, East Road, Cambridge CB1 1BD

This event is in the past.

How do the new generation of publishers work with real people in the digital world? If you never meet up face to face, what's the best way to negotiate contracts and keep suppliers and freelancers onside? E-books and print-on-demand are de rigeur, but what's it like to run a paperless office/workflow? What are the black arts of marketing via social as well as traditional media? How do we set up book tours in brick-and-mortar book stores and online with bloggers and platforms?

Kim Maya Sutton will talk to us live and in 100% reality about lessons learned since successfully co-founding Safkhet Publishing ( in 2010. Leave your avatar in cyberspace for the evening and come along!

£5 entrance, including wine/refreshments. Free for students.

Easiest access is via the Broad Street entrance, but there will be signs to the meeting from the East Road entrance anyway.

Philosophers and others who enjoy a good argument may quibble about '100% reality', but I hope you know what I mean …
